The Capteura® 200 Series Modular non-contact capacitive displacement instrumentation packages are the next generation to the 4000 series. Introduced in 2012, the new Capteura® 200 Series offers Capacitec’s highest stability and lowest noise solution for displacement measurements when used in conjunction with any of Capacitec line of non-contact displacement, gap and hole sensors.
Lab and field testing has confirmed that the Capteura® 200 series has the industry tested best performance for:
- Small capacitive sensor size vs. large displacement and gap measurement range plus long cable lengths with minimal calibration changes
- Capteura® series of true modular, compact amplifiers and electronic racks offer a cost competitive middle ground between old large electronic racks and new limited “mock modular” racks
- Electrostatic Discharge Protection: IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 for contact (8kV) and air (16kV) discharge
- Internal AC and DC (optional) power supplies vs. annoying external power bricks
Capteura® 200 Series provides and offers the latest state-of-the-art electronics and offer significant added value to users such as:
- Higher performance 220-S, -SL Dual Amplifier Card in a new 3.9” (100mm) long 2U size
- New modular rack designs with three time smaller volume holding up to 8 and 16 channels
- Higher bandwidth up to 12kHz coupled with very low noise
The modular amplifier cards are designed to operate with every probe diameter configuration and several sensitivity ranges by simple recalibration.
For applications that require use of multiple sensors, the dual 220 amplifier cards are mounted in the new 208-ACU and 216-ACU 8 or 16 channel compact racks. These can be optionally connected to Capacitec Bargrafx™, a LabView® based data acquisition and display software, providing additional visualization, linearization and signal conditioning capabilities.
The Capteura® 200 Series rack system combines two amplifiers onto each card allowing it to be twice as dense as most systems. Its small size requires a smaller rack enclosure. The rack system can accept up to eight 220 amplifier cards for up to 16 channels, with either 105-240VAC or 9-36VDC (208-DCU and 216-DCU) power input.
The Capteura® 200 Series is available in three different form factors. The 208 rack holds up to 8 channels; the 216 rack holds up to 16 channels and the stand-alone 200-EC single card enclosure allows for 1 dual channel card to be used in a dedicated aluminum enclosure. The rear panel of the 208 and 216 rack provides one BNC female connector for each primary analog output in single-ended mode plus a 24-pin D-Sub having an additional analog output connector offering differential analog output options.

Capteura® 200 series Enclosures and Racks:
200-ENC: The 200-EC is a stand-alone enclosure containing a dual channel amplifier.
The dual channel capacitive amplifier module is more cost effective as a stand-alone module than the multi-channel racks. The new unit has the same performance as the standard 220-S, SL Amplifier Series but includes a built in modular clock/driver card embedded in a rugged aluminum enclosure. The standard analog output is 0-10VDC. An optional differential analog output is also available.
The capacitance Amplifier module also includes an external universal AC/DC power adapter for 105 to 240 VAC, a 12 feet (3.6 meters) analog output cable and a 12 foot target grounding cable.
The 200-DAQ analog to digital converter with USB option is available.
208: The Capteura® series 208 eight-channel mini modular rack front view is the same width as the Capacitec 4004 and is one third the volume of the Capacitec 4008 eight channel rack.
The 208 rack (front view) is 7.00” (17.8 cm) wide including mounting flanges, with 5 actual slot holding up to 4 dual channel capacitive amplifier cards (8 channels of electronics) with individual 0-10VDC analog outputs. The fifth slot holds the 200-C Oscillator Card (and optional –DAQ 8-channel A/D to USB data acquisition module).
The rack’s rear panel has a BNC output connector for each primary analog output plus an additional 25-pin D-Sub analog output connector providing single ended or differential output options.
An internal Universal (105 to 240V) AC power supply is available standard on the 208-ACU. An internal 9-36V DC/DC power supply is available on the 208-DCU.
216: The Capteura® series 216 sixteen-channel mini modular rack front view is the same width as the Capacitec 4008 and the 216 rack is one third the volume of the Capacitec 4016 sixteen channel rack.
The 216 rack (front view) is 11.00” (28 cm) wide including mounting flanges, with 9 actual slots holding up to 8 dual channel capacitive amplifier cards (16 channels of electronics) with individual 0-10VDC analog outputs. The ninth slot holds the 200-C Oscillator Card.
The rack’s rear panel has a BNC female connector for each primary analog output plus two additional 25-pin D-Sub analog output connectors providing single ended or differential output options.

220-S-BNC: Dual Channel capacitive amplifier card dimensions are 3.9 x 2.15 x 1.0” (100 x 55 x 25.4mm) with linearity to ±1% of full scale*
220-SL-BNC: dual channel capacitance amplifier card dimensions are 3.9 x 2.15 x 1.0” (100 x 55 x 25.4mm) with linearity to ±0.2% of full scale*
220-B blank panel: a 1.0” (25.4mm) wide protective blank panel is available to cover empty slots.
